Getting started with Fido is quick and easy. Once you've downloaded the Fido App, you can register your account and begin the verification process in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download the Fido App
- Download the Fido App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and open the app to get started.
Step 2: Register Your Mobile Number
- Tap Register and enter your active South African mobile number.
- For security purposes, this number will be linked to your Fido account and used for future communication and account verification.
Step 3: Verify Your Number
- We'll send a One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS to the mobile number you provided.
- Enter the OTP in the app to confirm that the number belongs to you.
Step 4: Create Your PIN
- Create a secure 4-digit PIN. You'll use this PIN each time you log in to your Fido account.
- Choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.
Step 5: Complete Account Verification
After registration, you'll need to verify your account before you can apply for credit.
The verification process includes:
- Uploading your South African ID document
- Taking a live selfie
- Providing your residential address
- Granting the required app permissions
- Completing a short customer survey
- Undergoing an affordability assessment
These steps help us verify your identity, assess affordability, and comply with South African lending regulations.
Once your verification and affordability assessment are successfully completed, you'll be able to view any available credit offers in the Fido App and apply directly from your account.
